Photography at Maes Manor Wedding
Winter Wedding
Matthew and Nikki recently married at Eglwysilan Church near Caerphilly and moving onto Maes Manor Hotel in Blackwood for their reception. Possibly one of the most pleasant but coldest wedding I have ever shot.
The Perfect Service
Snow appeared overnight on our hills and a 4×4 was on hand just in case. Luckily roads and county lanes were clear for everyone to arrive safe and sound. During the service it was a lovely treat to see Reverend Sue Rees thoughtfully suggest that guests and children simply relax and do as they wish. No restrictions, nothing. Even Bailey, Matthew and Nikki’s young boy happily played in the aisle during their wedding ceremony. A lovely touch and a lovely wedding to witness.
Its A Wrap
After a warm toasty service their guest didn’t hang about outside because of a bitter wind chill and took a mad dash to their vehicles. Heading as swiftly onto Maes Manor we all headed indoors where there celebrations didn’t take long to warm up.
Matthew and Nikki later braved the cold as we headed out into the stunning Manor grounds for a quick portrait shoot. Nikki’s shoulder rap came in handy and perfectly matched and set off her stunning wedding dress.
Blast From The Past
It was a blast, thanks both. Being asked to document their wedding was such an honour as I’ve known Matthew and his family for many years. Matthew’s all grown to be a true gentleman, but I’ll always remember his and his brother cheeky little faces as young lads.
