Portmeirion Village Wedding Photography
Magnificent Wedding Location
I headed North for Catherine & Mark’s Portmeirion Village wedding and arrived a day early to have a scout around this unique Italian themed venue. It was a first for me and I was simply blown away, it was breathtaking! This little gem is located along Penrhyndeudraeth coast in Gwynedd North Wales. It’s also a local attraction and well worth a visit if you’re passing.
The day has come
I can honestly say I’ve looked forward to this day for quite some time, almost as much as Catherine and Mark. I’ve known Catherine for many years as we used to work alongside each other in the photography world. We were an awesome team back in the day and she is still as awesome to this very day.
Preparations at Castell Deudraeth
Catherine’s bridal preparations at Castell Deudraeth was one of the most relaxed moments I’ve ever had the pleasure to cover. Nothing phased Catherine, she even found the time to Skype her close friend Sarah in Australia while she was relaxing beforehand. Time was soon upon us and the moment came for Catherine to change into her dress. Catherine looked beautiful. Her choice of dress and shoes suited her elegance perfectly. I knew Mark was going to be blown away!
Civil Ceremony & Gardens
We headed down the path through the beautiful Portmeirion Village wedding venues grounds. Mark was eagerly awaiting his bride inside Hercules Hall where their ceremony took place. Catherine glided down the aisle towards her future husband. The next twenty minutes were joyful, memorable and emotional, but that’s enough about me, they seemed pretty loved up too. Everyone gathered outside after the signing of the register and coincidentally, there was another event taking place in the gardens. We were welcomed by the local brass band. You couldn’t have made it up, it was perfect timing. We then managed a few portrait shots around the colourful grounds before the Welsh heavens opened up.
Time to party
Once the food had been eaten, the speeches were applauded and the first dance had been danced, it was now time to party and what a blast it was. I witnessed some of the best groom dancing I’ve ever seen, and of course no wedding is ever complete without a traditional dance off between Mark and bridesmaid Nicola. They totally stole the floor, especially Mark with his unique Night Fever dance moves. Everyone laughed at this surprise dance and enjoyed the floorshow!
